Ghostbusters: Miami - Couch Potato

From the journal of Willy

The place: Miami Ghostbusters franchise.

The cast: Brad, Willy, Donny, Norman, Giles. All dressed in fetching hawaiin shirts and shorts.

Morning. Tick. Ow. Tock. Ow. Tick. Ow. Smash.

We awake hungover and headachy. The message light flashes on the answering machine. Sounds like some bums who can't pay much, but hey we're desperate. We ring back and a man called Don gives us an address and some vague promises of money. So we set off.

We arrive at a run down building with a sign saying 1947 outside. The windows are all barred from the inside. A street kid offers to mind our vehicle while we are inside. We grudgingly accept and make our way to the door. Finding our clients bell we ring and then make our way inside. Don offers 400 dollars which is less than even our standard investigation fee. After heated negotiation we agree on 450 plus free use of them for advertising purposes. He mentions a babe called Stella upstairs so we make our way up and make an entrance.

Stella emerges in a dressing gown and in a sexy voice welcomes us in. She eyes first Donny and then Brad who she asks to help her out. Brad can't believe his luck and ushers us out staying behind. We make our way upstairs to the next apartment and knock on the door. A woman, Mrs Paganini, invites us in but is very unhelpful, her children however menton the flicking TV channels. When we mention ghosts and that we are ghostbusters they get upset and start to be hostile towards us. One draws a water pistol and our hands move to our weapons. We notice drawings of ghosts strewn around the room. Donny gets soaked and we back out of the room.

Cutting back to Stella's boudouir: Brad bumps into something in the bedroom and all hell breaks loose. Strobe ligting fills the ar, a disco globe rotates, bass disco music fills the room, the bed bounces up and down. Stella looks upset and asks Brad to be careful. She turns off the disco stuff. She explains about the TV switching channels even after she chopped the cord off and pulled the fuse off. After some discussion Brad leaves and makes his way upstairs.

We meet as we are making our way to the fourth floor. Brad says "ghostbusters, open up or we come in" he then kicks the heavy steel door. Clang. What a jerk. Brad then decides to shoot through the wall with the Proton Pack. Zap. A ragged hole is blown in the wall. We all don our visors and Brad starts to climb through the hole. He emerges facing an irate man holding an elephant gun. Brad: "Where's the ghost? A ghost came through this wall and I shot at it. Where did it go?" After much browbeating he calms down and invites us in though he still holds his gun.

A fishtank contains pirahna, magazine and notebooks are strewn about, guns adorn the walls, a bank of monitors and video cameras line one wall. Looking closely the guns are loaded! We spread out in his apartments and he starts to get irritatable again. Woah. There are some heavy duty power cables about. A row of "medicinal" hydroponic plants are in one room. Don walks in through the hole in the wall and looks around in awe. We ask some more about the monitors and we are asked to leave. He unbolts the door, lets us out and then bolts it again. We watch him though the hole in the wall.

Half the team go and investigate Don's room. He has thrown out his TV in a fit of rage. This sounds fishy as we could hear a TV in the background on the answer machine. Brad goes off to see Mrs Paganini and the kids. They talk about the TV man they see who makes them laugh. We continue to search around and find some trace PKE readings coming from the garbage pile. We balst it and Norman is covered in glass dust, but the PKE remains. We decide to come back in the evening.

We come back later and take one floor each with 2 in Mrs Paganini's place. After a while a cartoon character starts to appear and Donny zaps it. It screams and then disappears through the floor. After much running up and downstairs and zapping we eventaully trap the ghost. We rock.
